Lake Run!!
Counting the days until the 40th Anniversary Lake Run!
The team is making sure every i is dotted and every t is crossed! We are hoping for 1500 runners this year and as of today we have close to 500 people signed up. Last year, we had 460 people signed up by April 27th. Well…it is only April 7th (as I write this blog article) and we certainly have exceeded last year's number.
We will have 2 raffle items this year. One will be a wagon filled with plants, gloves, dirt and some of the items a Gardener would love! The second raffle is an authentic Portland Trail Blazers' basketball signed by the Blazers' players, along with a certificate of authenticity. Each raffle item will be $5.00 a ticket or 5 tickets for $20.00.
The raffles are open now so spread the word! Click Liette Gasparitsch to contact her via email or dial 503-713-8127 to contact her via phone. She will help people with their ticket purchases. Tickets will also be available on Friday, May 6, 2016 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm and Saturday, May 7, 2016 during the Lake Run (up to 10:45 am) at the Lake Oswego Women’s Club tent. The winner of the raffle prizes will be announced at the Awards ceremony. You don’t have to be present to win.

Champions for Children Luncheon
The annual Champions for Children Luncheon has been a key fundraiser for the past 10 years, but Children's Center has decided to bid a bittersweet farewell to this event to allow for expansion of the Healing Garden Gala in September. We hope you'll attend this final luncheon to offer your support (over a pleasant lunch and delicious cakes) and to stand united in protecting our vulnerable children. If you aren't able to attend the luncheon, please look for details on the Gala as September approaches.
There is no cost for you to attend the luncheon, however, this is a fundraising event, so please remember to bring your checkbooks or credit cards! Children’s Center is hoping to sign up more monthly champions. This is a great way to budget your giving throughout the year. The luncheon is always touching and informative, PLUS the raffle baskets are outstanding!

Children's Center is seeking volunteers to assist on the day of the Luncheon. If you would like to volunteer your time to make this final luncheon a success, please contact Children's Center Volunteer Coordinator, Lori Malone or call 503-655-7725.
