Three ways to get your raffle tickets:

Tours will be offered at 6:35 and again at the conclusion of the meeting. (Arrive no later than 6:25 for the 6:35 tour. This is the only tour that results in raffle tickets!)
If you would like to participate in the 6:35 tour, please arrive at the center between 6:15 and 6:25. This will allow time for parking and a chance to grab a beverage prior to the start of the tour.
Participating in a tour will help you gain a better understanding of the services provided to assist children and families.

Donations

It is customary for LOWC members to bring small donations when we are hosted by a nonprofit. Children’s Center is always in need of snacks for the children who visit the center. An excellent donation would be Teddy Grahams individual serving packs or Cheddar Bunnies individual serving packs.
If you would like to reach for a more substantial donation, please refer to the Children’s Center Wish List which is hosted on Amazon. (You will need to click the categories on the left of the screen to all of the items on the wish list.)

From the President….

The beauty of Fall is upon us - cooler weather, that first Pumpkin Spice Latte, putting sweaters back on - the seasons change beautifully here.

I am proud to say that the LOWC is off to a fantastic 2014-2015 start!  The Fall Fashion Show was a fabulous success - if you missed it, be sure to check out the article below.

We have a new community outreach partnership - with the Arts Council of Lake Oswego - LOWC will sponsor an event, read about it and plan to attend.

Many social event dates are already planned - see the list below and update your calendar!

The Lake Run is hitting the ground, well, running!  Details are also in this blog.

And how does all this happen?  Our membership and the various committees!  I am happy to announce that the committee assignments have been completed - email is being sent to the various chairs, so expect an invitation to a committee meeting soon!

Late Breaking news:
The Arts Council of Lake Oswego has organized a Docent-led sculpture tour for LOWC on Tuesday, October 28th at 4:00 p.m.

The tour would begin at the 510 Museum & ARTspace to get a sneak-peek at the “Because She Cares” exhibit LOWC is sponsoring.  The tour would last approximately one-hour.  We will gather afterwards at a local establishment.  (location TBD).

Please let Chris Bonney know if you will attend.  RSVP no later than Thursday October 23, 2014 so that the correct number of docents can be scheduled.  Hope you all can make it!

This promises to be a wonderful year.  I am so excited!

Fashion Show was a Huge Success!

The Fashion Show Committee did a stellar job orchestrating LOWC's 14th Annual Fashion Show - kudos to all! We have raised over $4,000.00 to date and we are grateful to all LOWC members who donated items for our raffle baskets and live auctions!

Mark your calendars for September 24, 2015 for our next show! The Fashion Committee is looking for ideas for a theme for our next show so email Sheri Rathbun if you have any fun ideas.  We will announce the theme at the Christmas party and if your idea is picked, you get a prize!

We thought you might enjoy a pictorial view of the event!

A sea of Tiffany blue greeted guests as they glided down the staircase.

The guests arrived as Henri Mancini played softly in the
background.

LOWC members smiled for their 40th Anniversary picture!

The lovely Joan, Tracy (Children's Center), Pauline, Annie, Jessica and Scottie were the gorgeous models for the Carlisle Collection.

And the raffle baskets winners were announced…

Thank you all for attending the fabulous fashion event and for supporting our charities with your generous raffle ticket purchases along with the auction item purchases! Looking forward to next year's fashion frivolity!

Lake Run is picking up speed

Activities are beginning in support of the 2015 Lake Run.

We already have six thousand dollars ($6,000.00) from Sponsors!  Glenn Brivic is working hard to ensure that we are funded and can support our Charities.

Several Coordinators have agreed to repeat their service again for 2015.  Thank you!  Outstanding results last year!  Let's do it again!

Our 39th annual Lake Run logo is complete and ready for use.  Check it out!

We have confirmed our page in RaceCenter NW Magazine to encourage runners to participate.

The Lake Run profits support women and children that are in need in our community. That is why we have this event!  Please realize your help is appreciated and will help someone less fortunate.

Thank you in advance.
