Lake Run Feedback
If you haven't already, please provide feedback about your experience working with this year's Lake Run! The following link will take you to a survey that only takes 3-5 minutes to complete. We appreciate your input no later than June 30th. It helps the club put on an even better event next year!
Make Your Committee Selections for next year!
If you haven't already done so, we need all members to respond to the following 'survey' to tell us what your top 3 committee choices are for next year! Please do so by July 31st. After that, we will make committee choices for you if we don't have your input, so don't delay! This only takes 2-3 minutes! Thanks!Volunteers needed to 'man' our LOWC booth at the Farmers Market July 19th!
LOWC will have a booth at the farmers market on Saturday July 19th and we need 6-8 more volunteers who can take one of the following shifts (7:30-9:30 (including set up), 9:30-11:30 or 11:30-1:30 (including tear down)). Volunteer with a friend, bring a coffee and be willing to interact with anyone who has questions for us about what LOWC does, how they can get involved with our group, the lake run, your experience with our club etc.
Please contact Lisa Rainer.

WHAT WOULD AUDREY DO?
Audrey is so happy because the fashion show is only 3 months away! There are so many marvelous meetings to attend so she had to clone herself to attend them all! She enjoyed the Maher’s Irish Pub Happy Hour last week and had fun handing out the last of the prizes for the fashion frivolity quizzes for the year! The winners are seen below with all the Audreys and they are all happy as they join the 20 other LOWC members that are now eligible for the Grand Prize drawing on September 25th at the Fashion Show!
Since LOWC is celebrating our 40th year wouldn’t it be just fabulous to make this Fashion Show the best yet! Ask yourself...What would Audrey do and consider helping out in the following ways:
1. We will be having a Sustainer, an Active and a Past President’s Basket. We still need someone to orchestrate the sustainer basket so please email Sheri Rathbun if you can help us.
Please contribute items for the other baskets by contacting these LOWC members:
Past President Basket ~ Email Lauren Retzlaff.
2. Bring a friend to the fashion show or invite an LOWC member you have not seen in awhile. Keep checking the website for Fashion Show updates and ticket information.
3. We will be having a “silver” basket because the theme is Tiffany’s! If you have silver or silverplated candleholders, serving trays, bowls or any other silver items that are lovely but no longer part of your life and you want to donate them to our silver basket email Sheri Rathbun.
The Fashion Committee is having fun and working hard to make LOWC’s Breakfast at Tiffany’s Fashion Show memorable and it would make all of us so very happy if you could help us is any way that works for you.

Fun Recipe
I hope you have enjoyed reading each Provisional highlighted in the blogs. At the end of their "getting to know" them, there is a recipe submitted by each lady. I've tried quite a few, and hope you have picked up a few favorites.
Summer is here and it’s time to be outside entertaining with family/friends. So here is one of my favorite recipes that I’d like to share.
CLAMS IN WHITE WINE OVER PASTA
Ingredients:
1 can chicken broth (14.5 ounces)
½ cup minced onions
½ cup minced garlic
3 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoon olive oil
2 pounds littleneck clams
salt & pepper to taste
fresh parsley
Directions:
•Mince your garlic and onions. Place a large saucepan (make sure you have a lid for it) on medium heat and melt 1 tablespoon of butter. When it has melted, add 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Add the onions and stir with a wooden spoon for 1-2 minutes, until fragrant. Add the garlic and stir. After 1 minute, add wine & chicken broth. (If the garlic starts to brown before one minute, add the wine and broth immediately.) Turn the heat to high and cover with a lid. Let it boil for 3-5 minutes and then turn the heat back down to medium. Add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and sprinkle in a little salt and pepper.
•Carefully place all of your clams in the pot. (This can be tricky – the clams need to have room or else they will not open. If you have too many clams, it may be easier to do this in two batches.) Put the lid back on and turn the heat up so it comes to a low boil.
•After 1-2 minutes, check on the clams. Some of them should be open by now. Essentially, you want to keep the pot covered to keep the heat in, but you are also probably going to need to move the clams around – I usually find that 4 or so open on their own, and the rest I need to strategically maneuver so that they have space – this can mean piling the already open clams on top of one another. At this point you can add in some chopped parsley and some more salt and pepper to your taste.
•Let the clams boil for an additional 3-5 minutes, or until all the clams have opened. If any have not opened, discard them.
•Serve over linguine or spaghetti.
