Happy Valentine’s Day LOWC!
February is the time to start planning next year’s officer and committee chairs. If you have an interest in being a chair, you need to know that this commitment requires becoming a board member. Board members must attend our monthly board meetings as well as our general meetings. This enables you to have a general knowledge of what our club is doing and its monthly needs. It is a fun and challenging way to learn more about the club and yourself. If this is something that may interest you email or call me so we can talk about it.
Please try to make our next General meeting this month. We will be meeting at Gametime at 7pm for social and 7:30 pm, Thursday, February 21. This meeting will be focusing on some items that will need our general memberships input. I would love to see at least half of our membership at this meeting – voting may occur and a quorum is needed. Look for our general meeting agenda to be emailed to you later this month for more information.
Again, Happy Valentine’s Day.
Thank you!

Hi Ladies and welcome to February. Crazy to see January has just flown by but I hope you all are doing well and enjoying the extra bit of daylight we are now getting.... I love it! I was sorry to miss Lauren's great PJ party because we were out of town but it looks like and sounds like a fantastic time was had by all the ladies who attended. Thank you Lauren for hosting another event!
Our next scheduled Happy Hour is March 6th @ Tucci's. It starts at 5pm and we look forward to seeing many of you there! Tucci's is a wonderful restaurant and just had a great spread in Hello L.O. Please join us if you can!

In fact they are welcome, we need dealers and someone to keep our glasses filled. Please email me at social@lowomensclub.org or call me to get your name on the list. The cost is $20 per person and remember 100% of proceeds go to your LOWC Operational Fund!

Children's Center Update
I'd like to share the newsletter from our partner philanthropy, the Children's Center. I'm proud to say you will find many of our LOWC member names in the December and January volunteer list. As you will read, the Center has seen a dramatic increase in referrals. The support they receive from our club is always appreciated and truly makes a difference in the lives of children in Clackamas County. You can be proud! Our club is helping children who have experienced abuse, neglect and/or witness to violence. If you would like to volunteer at the Children's Center, opportunities for the month are listed in the newsletter. Brooke (former Volunteer Manager) has left the Center but Shauna Lugar is happy to receive any and all inquiries while they search for a new Volunteer Manager. If you don't have time to volunteer, they are always in need of items for their waiting room (see Wish List in the newsletter). If you would like to donate any of these items, contact me and I will arrange to get them to the Center.
Last, but not least, May 8th is the annual Champions for Children Luncheon. The featured speaker for the luncheon will be Drew McWilliams and special guest will be Tracy Barry, KGW Northwest NewsChannel 8. I will be seeking out a group of LOWC members who would like to assist the Center in reaching their fundraising goal. More information to come.

Are you Computer Savvy?
In the last few years Lake Oswego Women's Club has become more "tech friendly." As a result, we now have our newsletter posted online - in the form of a blog. We have our website with member login and self-service profile updates (we'll add online credit card processing soon!!). This past year, we added Google Apps to our lineup and we now have "xyz@lowomensclub.org" email addresses.
As the Online Communications Chair, I am the LOWC board member who is currently charged with oversight of these services. I am looking for someone to step-up to be my assistant for the 2013-2014 LOWC year. I'm searching for LOWC members who are "above average" in your current computer skills. I can teach you the basics of how these applications work, but I'm looking for a person with good problem solving skills when it comes to computer software and online applications.
Please email me at admin@lowomensclub.org if you're interested! No commitment required. Feel free to ask questions.
