LOWC April General Meeting
Picasso Artistic Salon
449 B Ave., Lake Oswego, OR 97034
We will have a speaker from Saint Child, Rebecca Bloomfield, executive director. Here is a bit of information that they sent to us. "Saint Child is a transitional living home for at-risk pregnant young women in the Portland area. We were formerly known as the House of Ruth. The majority of our residents have been abused, sex-trafficked, and struggle with some form of addiction. We provide a safe transitional living home and comprehensive programming for our residents' recovery."

The 39th Annual Lake Run is May 9th!
A huge thank you to those who have already signed up to volunteer and/or recruited friends, family and associates to help us out.
Likely, you already know we need more volunteers than we have membership. So having everyone fill a volunteer shift is crucial to the success of our only fundraiser this year.
Super easy! Go to LOWC website, log in and click to volunteer for the Lake Run. Got friends and family that would like to help out, awesome! As long as they are 18 years of age or older, log on and sign up for them, then shoot me an email, Kris Coder, letting me know you signed them up.
I am more than happy to chat with anyone that has questions or concerns about the volunteer opportunities.
Thanks everyone for stepping up!

Abby's Closet
Below is information from Abby's Closet Executive Board talking about the successful event last month!
"What a weekend! A huge thank you to the 2,213 high school students and their families who attended the 2015 Prom Gown Giveaway at the Oregon Convention Center. What a wonderful feeling to see so many smiling faces leave the event with beautiful gowns in hand. This year marked our 11th year hosting the event and with 7,777 dresses up for grabs, the attendees had lots to choose from.
The event was a great success and would not have been possible without the help of our amazing volunteers. We would like to extend a huge thank you to the more than 400 individuals who came out to assist with the event. From set-up to teardown and everything in-between we couldn't have asked for a better group. Many who volunteered shared great stories about connecting with attendees and helping them find the perfect gown. We love the thought of all those beautiful dresses having another chance to dance. Visit our 2015 Twirl Gallery to see a few of our attendees taking their dresses for a spin!
The Friday night before the Giveaway, Abby's Closet hosted a Sneak Peek event. The Sneak Peek allowed Abby's Closet supporters to experience the event before the doors officially opened to the public. The evening included awarding our Dreams Can Come True Scholarship to two deserving young women. Congratulations to Blanca and Courtney! We wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors. Thank you to TJ Maxx and an anonymous donor for sponsoring this wonderful program.
With the 2015 Giveaway event behind us, Abby's Closet is already switching gears to focus on our upcoming Color Her World, May Day Tea fundraiser. Please read below for ways you can attend and support this fun event.
As always, thank you all for your continued support of Abby's Closet!
Warmly,
The Abby's Closet Executive Board"
It was great to have some representation from LOWC and they even got to meet Abby herself. Be sure to sign up next year! It was great to see so many happy young women!

Kudos!
What a great group of ladies I have on my committee! Between jumping mid-season into new roles and tackling new obstacles, I couldn't have asked for a better group. Thank you all for being the amazing women you are!
