Life is beautiful

Scholarship Process is Open

As of February 5th, LOWC has formally opened the Outstanding Community Scholarship application process. Seniors from West Linn, Lake Oswego and Lake Ridge high schools can download an application from our website and return it along with supporting materials by March 21st.  Interviews will be held April 9th and 10th and the winners will be announced at each schools' Awards ceremonies.

Thank you to a very engaged and committed Philanthropy Committee for taking important jobs to make the whole Scholarship process work effectively!

Running in the Lake Run

The registration link for the 2014 Lake Run is LIVE - you can find it on our website, lowomensclub.org.  Be sure to check it out along with the wonderful Lake Run and Sponsor pages.

The Lake Run committee is hard at work getting all the details in order - big details like the permitting process and printing of banners that will grace the city light poles and hang over State Street, smaller details, like poster text and t-shirt print size, and the "interesting" bits as well like how many port a potties to order, are all being taken care of to ensure that our race will be a success. And guess what?  Even though the race is still a couple of months away, we already have a dozen registrations - yes, 12 runners have registered and paid already!  So what else is needed?  Every member needs to sign up for your volunteer slot, really as soon as possible.  The volunteer link is on our main webpage - just like the registration link for the runners.  Scroll down just a little and there it is.  Click the link, login and get signed up.  Forgot your login password?  No problem, there is a link there for that too, and very shortly you will have the information you need to get logged in and signed up for your shift.  Do it now!  The earlier you log in, the more choices you will have from which to select your volunteer position.  And remember, if you can't volunteer, you are required to find someone to be your replacement.  Register your replacement and send an email to the volunteer coordinator, Kris Coder* at LRVolunteerCoordinator@lowomensclub.org, letting her know the name of your replacement.  With everyone's help, I'm sure this year will be a huge success!

2013-2014 President

LO Reads Community Dessert: A Success

Thanks to the Philanthropy Committee and other LOWC members for making the dessert such a success! Over 300 community members enjoyed delicious cupcakes, coffee and punch in a lovely decorated setting at LO High School.  Many compliments were received from the community, library staff and even the mayor.  Our logo adorned shirts made LOWC very recognizable and our Lake Run advertisements in the flower centerpieces helped keep our key charity event before the community. A wonderful evening for all!!

Fashion Frivolity at Tucci Restaurant

Twelve fashionable LOWC ladies wore the pantone color of the year "Radiant Orchid "at Tucci Ristorante for our latest Happy Hour.

It was indeed a happy hour because all 12 ladies were awarded prizes for wearing pink and they answered fashion frivolity questions from the past blogs. Okay, so there was a lot of whispering and sharing of answers but I let that go! Our grand prize winners were Scottie and Minita so watch for them carrying their “Radiant Orchid” water bottles around LO!

You will have to wait until April 9th at Oswego Grill for the next Happy Hour for more fashion frivolity. If you haven't attended a LOWC Happy Hour, you do not want to miss this one! Our fashion committee is having their first meeting on Feb. 26th so stay tuned for the theme announcement along with details about our annual fashion fund raiser on September 25th. Mark your calendars now, ladies!
